Welcome to Over Haddon Parish Council website

Over Haddon lies in the heart of one of the most attractive parts of the “White Peak” area of the Peak District National Park. The parish contains about 100 dwellings in the village plus around 12 outlying farms, with a total population of approximately 250. It has changed from being a farming and lead-mining community in the 19th century to one relying on commuting and tourism in the 21st century, along with pastoral farming on the surrounding rolling limestone grassland. Lathkill Dale, which adjoins the village to the south, is mainly wooded, with rocky outcrops. It was designated as a National Nature Reserve in the 1970’s and attracts many walkers. The River Lathkill is clear and unpolluted.

The main purpose of this site is to provide statutory information and also to link to community sites and events.

Over Haddon is a small Derbyshire Dales village overlooking Lathkill Dale. It lies 2 miles from Bakewell and is accessed from B5055.
